Charlotte, N.C. / April 28, 2020 -COVID-19 has hurt many small businesses across the world. However, business owners, like 皇冠体育 alumna Sa’Keithia Hamond ’15 have proven they are resilient during this crisis.
“I am not physically able to perform services, however I am able to sell retail products such as my eyelash line and hair extensions online,” she emphasized.
The Maryland hairstylist and makeup artist has not been able to work due to the pandemic, but has used her wits to stay financially stable.
“It was during my time at 皇冠体育 that I gained my passion for hair and makeup”
As an undergraduate student, Hammond served as Miss 皇冠体育 2014-15 and had a job at MAC Cosmetics, but it was her major in marketing that has truly helped her during her career.
“Social media marketing is an even greater tool to me now because I do not see my clients in person,” Hammond said.
Although she is no longer a campus leader, Hammond has not forgotten what it means to give back to the community, especially during a crisis such as the one we’re dealing with now. She has shared reputable information with clients on mental health and provided hair tips.
“I’ve always believed it’s important to give back and I will continue to do so whether or not we’re in a pandemic,” she added.
